Project's structure

A rule has been assumed that study and implementation works during the project in all participant regions are carried out by the same logical scheme:

  • conceptual phase (defining aims and strategy, creating a complex conception, preparation of spatial and feasibility studies),
  • elaboration of models for cooperation and consensus,
  • implementation phase (technical projects, realisation of pilot actions, their assessment).

Main objectives are:

  • development of decision support system for revitalization of urban river spaces (actions within WP3) and
  • elaboration/demonstration of detailed principles of revitalization (WP4).

The first objective will be carried out by evaluation of existing implementation methods, testing & verification of public involvement methods, analyses of benefits from revitalization, and transfer of knowledge/experience for improving cooperative planning. Core outputs - 3.1.9, 3.2.3, 3.3.4, 3.4.4 respectively - are sections of transnational manual dedicated to building of revitalization strategy.
The second objective will be carried out by elaboration of practical tool for incorporation of approaches developed within the project (action 4.3: principles in practice, core output 4.3.12 - guidelines: annex to handbook). Elaboration of the tool is based mostly on practical development of 6 pilot actions including 6 individual projects and 5 investments (4.3.1-4.3.11, no core outputs).
