Pilot actions

REURIS project includes 6 pilot actions - 5 of them include investment.

Demonstration of:
- common approach to revitalisation,
- common tools.

Pilot action consists of:

  • cooperative planning,
  • technical design,
  • pilot investment,
  • monitoring of the results,
  • elaboration of practical guidelines.

Pilot actions are:

  • Valley of Ślepiotka stream in Katowice - partial renaturisation of river channell and restoration of local ecological corridor, increase of water retention capacity, improvement of storm-water management, restoration of landscape resources,
  • Bydgoszcz Old Canal - reconstruction of water flow with reference to historical tradition of the place, planting of native trees and shrubs, introducing demonstrative landscape elements, adapting the adjacent area for educational and leisure functions,
  • Old Ponavka in Brno - creation of green corridor along artificial river fork in post-industrial area (pilot action with no investment),
  • River spaces in Pilsen: creating sport and recreational paths (greenways) in Pilsen's river valleys, complemented by sports and relaxation facilities; developing a proposal for an information system (riverside education trail) and a signposting system along all Pilsen's rivers; adding elements to the territorial system of ecological stability in the river valleys,
  • Valley of river Feuerbach in Stuttgart - partial renaturisation of river channell and floodplains in brownfield area, oriented on creation of aquatic and amphibian habitats, development of retention areas, increase of biodiversity,
  • Local rivers and canals in Leipzig - implementation of soil bioengineering techniques for renaturalization of shore lines in areas impacted by lignite mining - activities oriented on increase of habitat diversity and establishment of local ecological links.
